Tartu, February 2022

Field observations from 21st February 2022 to 28th February 2022

February this year was not particularly cold, but birds still had to deal with a lot of wind.

With this kind of weather, as it happened with very cold and snowy weather, different species of corvids can been seen very closely in the same tree.

With the weather becoming warmer and warmer, crows can be observed drinking and bathing in ponds of melting snow.

Food is also more and more accessible, as grass and soil gradually reappear from under the snow, and fightings for food become less frequent.
