Field observations from 1st June 2022 to 11th June 2022

The heat wave is hitting Estonia as well as it does with the rest of Europe. Crows are consequently mostly seen in the shade, looking for fresh spots near the trees.

The Raadi Cemetery is providing everything new families of birds would need during these hot times, especially accessible water.

Consequently, species can be found here very close from each other.

Here, C. monedula is looking for food between the fresh stones of the graves.

There, C. frugilegus is drinking in freshly watered plants.

In this tree, a pair of C. cornix is protecting its nest.

This cohabitation is not always peaceful, as some corvids can be predators for other corvids’ eggs and chicks, and every parent is ready to fight for defending its younglings.
